High Frequency Word {FREEBIE} & Happy Fourth!!!

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!

I hope you are having a safe and wonderful Fourth of July with family and friends!!!

To celebrate the Fourth of July, I have a freebie for you! These are high frequency word cards that I use with my intervention group...

There are 56 word cards total, and each card has a phrase with high frequency words (I don't know where these phrases came from... I got them somewhere, from someone, a long time ago...If you  know, please let me know!) I've found that my struggling students need to master these words in order to improve their deciding, fluency, and comprehension... basically to become stronger readers. There are lots of different ways to use them! Here are some ideas:

1. See how many word cards a student can read correctly in one minute. Have them record their score and then read for another minute and try to beat their score! They can also do this with a friend!

2. Do a scoot around the room and see how many they can find, read, and record.

3. Place the cards at a literacy center to practice with.

You can probably think of some great ways to use them too! (Please let me know!!! :)

They are free in my TPT store- just click on the pictures to grab them. All I ask is that you leave a comment and let me know what you're doing for the 4th today!

I am off to BBQ and watch LOTS of fireworks, of course! :)

Happy Fourth!!!
