Our New Years Resolutions

First day back to school today! The worst part was the alarm going off at 5:00 this morning! However, once I got to school it wasn't bad at all. The kids were rested and ready to learn, and they (miraculously) didn't forget all of our classroom rules and procedures.

We did a writing activity where we defined the word resolution, and came up with our own New Years resolutions and goals to be better friends and better people. We used Hope King's super cute writing template. Some of my favorite resolutions the kids came up with were:

1. Play more. (I think I am going to steal this and make it one of my resolutions...)
2. Help my aunt go to Weight Watchers because she's so big.
and
3. Not roll around on the carpet during carpet time because this is not break dancing class (See- they really ARE listening!)

(Yes, they really wrote these things down.)

But my all around favorite was this one:

I love the sentence that says 'My second New Years resolution is to tell my mom she is important to me because sometimes I forget to tell her.' So sweet! It was a great reminder to tell the people who are important to us that we love them.

I hope everyone had a great day, at school or still enjoying your vacation!

***Random side note*** Did anyone see Real Housewives last night...? Did Brandi on the plane not remind you of Annie on the plane in Bridesmaids...?!?
