I love my Yaker Tracker!!!
This baby keeps my classroom so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. Or a fart. (Not from me- from a kid!!!) It's happened before, and it'll probably happen again. Once you get past the little turkeys who try to intentionally set it off, it works like a charm!!! You can the decible level to however quiet/loud you want it. When the kids are quiet, it stays green. When it gets a little too noisy, yellow. And when it gets to red, a siren goes off. Yikes...the siren is bad. Very bad.
I try not to use it too much and save it for absolutely necessary blocks of time (i.e. I have a headache, I've had it up to here, it's been one of those days, or we just got finished at an assembly where they make music by banging on garbage cans with broom sticks and every kid wants to do the same and try it out on their desks when we get back to class...). That way when I turn it on, the kids know we mean business! And they LOVE when it's on!!! They request it....

I used to wear really super cute fancy shoes every day. The girls in my class would love it. They always noticed when I had a new pair of "fancy" shoes they called them. I even belonged to a shoe of the month club. You know, like wine of the month, or cheese of the month. This was shoe of the month. I loved it. My feet did not. So I wised up. Either that, or my feet hurt too much. I will still wear cute shows every once in a while, but these are my go-to now. :) And my feet are very happy about that. :) And so am I.
I love the weather!!! And the Hunger Games books!!!
This was the view from my chair as I sat and read the second Hunger Games book this afternoon on my iPad. I'm loving the books too!!!
